Fine Art - Drawing

As an art teacher I believe that drawing is intrinsic to understanding the world around us. It allows us to record our surroundings, thoughts, ideas, objects and emotions. I love to draw with all different types of materials, from photorealistic pencil drawing to large-scale ink drawings.

Photography

My Grandad's camera travels with me and allows me to record what I experience immediately. It is a 1969 Olympus OM10, a 35mm film camera, which he took everywhere with him. At university I specialised in darkroom processing and love the grainy texture of film, as well as the aesthetic of black and white photography.

Fine Art - Printmaking

Printmaking is a lovely way of recording texture, shape, tone and pattern. The quality of the surface can be reflected in the marks that you make within the print. Printmaking is something I have been developing for about 10 years and is a completely different approach to drawing and observing that pushes my skills and understanding.
